School of Public Health

1. To be considered in good standing and making satisfactory academic progress for financial aid, a student must receive a passing grade in all courses attempted for the semester.A grade of "I" (Incomplete) will not impact eligibility for financial aid if a passing grade for that course is earned and replaced on the transcript records during the following semester or the very next semester the course is offered.

2. A student who receives a grade of "F" (Fail) in a course will be ineligible for financial aid. School policy does not allow for repetition of a course when a failing grade is originally earned in that course. This applies to both
Doctoral and Master's students.

3. The standard time frame for completion of of a Master of Science degreeis 50 credit hours. The maximum time frame for completion of the degree for financial aid eligibility will be 75 credit hours of attempted coursework. The standard time frame for completion of of a Doctor of Philosophy
degree is 65 credit hours (in addition to Master's degree coursework). The maximum time frame for completion of the degree for financial aid eligibility will be 98 credit hours of attempted coursework.

4. A grade of "I" (Incomplete) or a course withdrawal (drop) will be counted in the number of hours of attempted coursework and therefore will count toward the maximum number of hours attempted for financial aid eligibility.

5. A student whose thesis or dissertation is extraordinarily involved or requires more than what is considered to be the normal amount of research or writing effort may request to have the maximum time frame increased. A joint decision of the student's faculty advisor, the Director of Student Affairs, and the Director of Student Financial Services will determine if the request is accepted, and, if accepted, the additional length of time that will be given for financial aid eligibility.

6. Each financial aid applicant's academic progress will be officially verified at the end of each term, prior to disbursement for the upcoming term.
