1. Any student on disciplinary probation will immediately become ineligible
for financial aid until removed from such standing.
2. To be eligible for financial aid, a student must:
a. Maintain a grade point average of 70 or above for any semester;
b. Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 76 or above at any time during progression through the curriculum;
c. Maintain satisfactory progress, as determined by the Student Evaluation Committee; and
d. Do not demonstrate non-professional conduct as determined by the faculty and/or administration.
3. Financial aid eligibility will not extend beyond ten semesters (five academic years).
4. Course work in which the student receives a grade of incomplete will not impact eligibility unless failure to complete the course disqualifies the student for financial aid under the conditions in #2 (above).
5. A student's financial aid eligibility, after having been disqualified under
this policy, can be reinstated when the student meets the requirements stated in #2 (above).
6. A student suspended from financial aid eligibility may appeal that status by indicating in writing to the Director of Student Financial Services and the Dean of the Dental Branch, or his/her designees, the existence of mitigating circumstances. Each appeal will be considered on its merit by
the Director of Student Financial Services and the Dean of the Dental Branch, or his/her designee.
