Emergency Loans

Emergency Loan Details

Emergency loans (short-term, 90-day loans) are available for tuition payment and for living expenses (for GSBS students, living-expense emergency loans are due in 120 days). We cannot apply these funds to your personal bank account via direct deposit at this time. We cannot accept credit card payments to repay these funds.

General Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be enrolled at least 1/2 time for living expense emergency loans;
    may be enrolled less than 1/2 time for tuition payment emergency loans.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. (International Students should inquire about emergency loans at the International Office.)

  • Students must be in good academic standing and have no institutional holds on their records.

 

Tuition Emergency Loans

Tuition emergency loans are processed only for the amount of the tuition and bear interest at a 5% annual rate. This emergency loan is applied directly against the student's account. The student will have to stop by the Financial Aid Office to apply.

 

Living Expense Emergency Loans

General Eligibility Criteria:

  • Living expense emergency loans bear no interest and are available in varying amounts, based on the student's school program and the amount of funds available.

  • Students may apply for an emergency loan in the Student Financial Services Office, 7000 Fannin, Suite 2220, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

  • Medical and Dental students may apply for living expense emergency loans in the Student Affairs Office of their respective school.

NOTE: Applications received after 4:00 p.m. will be processed the following day. Funds may be picked up or mailed.
