The Office of Student Financial Services at UTHSC-H awards
qualified applicants assistance from the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in the form of
loans for disadvantaged students in the medical and
dental (DDS) programs. The DHHS definition of economically
'disadvantaged' student is based on 200 percent of the
Department's poverty guidelines. The guidelines, which apply
regardless of student's age, independent/dependent,
or marital status, are as follows:

For each additional
person add:
|
|
*Means number of exemptions listed on parents' federal income tax
forms (e.g., family size of 4 might include two parents and two
dependents).
**Adjusted gross income for calendar year 2008, rounded to
nearest $100.
All interested applicants must provide the parent information on the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), complete the Parent Income/Resource Statement (click to go to the form), and attach a copy of the parents' 2008 U.S. Federal Tax Return.
Recipients will be notified via their Financial Aid Award Letter.
