Academic Eligibility

To be eligible for financial aid a student must maintain satisfactory academic progress toward his/her degree, as defined herein. The student must meet minimum requirements as defined by the General Policy AND the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for the school in which he/she is enrolled and pursuing a degree.

General Policy

Any student who is denied financial aid as a result of failure to meet the minimum standards of this policy may appeal that decision to the Director of Student Financial Services or his/her designee. To do so, the student must submit the appeal in writing to the Office of Student Financial Services. The Director or his/her designee will review the appeal and consider any unusual or extraordinary circumstance. The decision reached by the Director or his/her designee plus all required explanations will be maintained in the student's financial aid file and made available to the student upon request.

• Academic progress will not be verified on entering students until after completion of at least one term of enrollment.

• Confirmation of a student's financial aid eligibility under this policy must be provided to the Office of Student Financial Services by the appropriate school official prior to the disbursement of financial aid funds.

• After having been disqualified for financial aid under this policy, reinstatement of eligibility routinely occurs when the student again meets policy requirements.
